NEW YORK - Just this past Saturday it was announced on theLoud.com "Finalists" weekly video series that LA's own, Tha Crow, was picked as the winner of $100K and a record deal with SRC Universal Records. SRC Records CEO, Steve Rifkind today announced Tha Crow as the winner of LOUD.com’s (www.loud.com) online rap-battle music competition. The California native will receive $100,000 along with a SRC/Universal recording contract. After beating out thousands of contestants, through 30 rounds, where over 20,000 music tracks were submitted, nine top finalists competed through a cycle of challenges during the online web series, “The Finalists”, in which Tha Crow was crowned the winner. Now having been selected the winner, SRC Records will begin the marketing and promotion process in an effort to make him hip-hop’s next star. The contest which lasted nearly a year had three stages of competition on the website with upfront purses of $10,000, $15,000 and $25,000 for the nine semifinalists leading up to the grand finale. Each week (or round), a winner is selected, and from that pool of ten winners, three are chosen as semi-finalists for the Finals. When all three brackets have been completed, the Top 9 semi-finalists (3 from each bracket) will compete against each other in a Finals Bracket for the $100,000 and record deal. After 7 weeks of competition between the nine semi-finalists it came down to four contestants, Tha Crow, Most Official, Killa Kat and Franchise. The competition was grueling and it was documented on the website in a reality show type series that was aired weekly over the past two months. The victory is sweetest being that Tha Crow was the only finalist from the West Coast. Check out the video of his win at Loud.com. Below is the video of his semi-final $25K win.
